A standard retrofitting would include,

Major Components
1. Putting solar panels on your roof to offset most of your electric bill.

2. Installing a Hallowell Acadia Combined Heating & Cooling System to lower your heating and cooling bill without relying on fossil fuels.

Other Components
1. AirTap™ Hot Water Heater & new hot water tank to totally remove your need for fossil fuels.
2. Replace all your lights with compact florescent bulbs.

3. Install vacancy sensors in any rooms you tend to leave the lights on.
4. Install low flow showerheads that turn off when unoccupied to save water.
5. Evaluate your insulation, windows and doors for leaks. Weather-strip and seal leaks.
6. Add a TED electricity monitor to keep tabs on electricity usage.
